In August we have a dinner - this is to give the Committee a month’s holiday and to give the members a break from WI business and to get to know each other socially. This year we chose the Foresters as our venue - this was the first time they had opened their doors on a Tuesday night since 2019, and, as Dave, our host said, it will not be the last as they will now continue to open on Tuesday nights. With Dave and Adam taking the role of waitresses for the evening (no men in the WI!), the newish chefs in the kitchen produced a wonderful spread of food. I had a divine mushroom thingy, followed by a melt in the mouth sea bass and I finished with a delicate creme brûlée. My co-table members had equally delicious food that tickled the taste buds.
Two great Fairwarp Institutions - the WI and the Foresters - meeting together to make an evening that we will all remember for the food, for the company, and for the pleasure that we all enjoyed. Next month we are back to normal with a speaker, so do come and try us out on the second Tuesday at the Village Hall for 7.30pm.
