Fairwarp Church Bellringers

Contact: Mr Chris Shaw

Work Phone: 01825 712950

According to at least one visiting ringer, Fairwarp has the finest peal of bells in Sussex. They were cast by Gillett and Johnson and were hung in 1936 when the substantial church tower was built. The tenor weighs fifteen hundredweight, and the sound of the bells being rung is glorious.

The Bellringers meet to practice each Thursday at 7.45 pm, and regularly ring for the Sunday morning service at 9.30 am, as well as for special occasions. New members of the group – including beginners – are always welcome, and you can find out more about the Fairwarp bells and bellringers from the Tower Captain Mr Chris Shaw on 01825-712950.
