Church dorsal goes to the Royal School of Needlework.
If you have been into the church recently you will have noticed the the dossal (the ornamental cloth hung behind the alter) is missing. It has been sent to the Royal School of Needlework to be repaired and cleaned.
It had been hanging directly against the wall which is a little damp and when it is returned it will be re-hung so that it hangs slightly away from the wall. While it is away the wall will be decorated and there are plans to do something special for the WW1 centenary commemorations.
