Fairwarp Community Society AGM – 25 June 2019 7.30pm for 8.00pm

Come along to the FCS AGM and find out what we do for you in the village and what our plans are going forward. Refreshments will be available from 7.30pm with a chance to meet the current committee.
And why not think about joining the committee? We are a fun bunch!

Watch out for telephone scams

There have been some telephone scams doing the rounds and several Fairwarp residents have had these calls. One purports to be from Microsoft who say that your computer has been hacked and they want £495 for software to sort it out. The other purports to be from BT saying that your broadband is about to be closed down.
Stay vigilant out there!

Village Fete – please dig out your unwanted gifts or bottles of booze

In the days leading up to the fete volunteers will be calling to collect any items that you may wish to donate to the Tombola, the Grand Draw and the Barrow-of-Booze. Alternatively, you can bring the prizes to the Tombola tent on the day of the Fete before 1.00pm.
Prizes are needed however big or small – we can use any of your unused/unwanted items!
Please give generously, the proceeds from these stalls help to maintain the Village Hall, Children’s Playground and the Village Green.

Inspiration at Fair Fest

At the great Fair Fest held at the Foresters Arms, I met a truly inspirational lady and her co-conspirator friend, Hannah Mackay from Nutley and her friend Debbie from Fairwarp who are going to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge very shortly as well as undertaking many other charity challenges in aid of dementia.
The way she told her story and the strength of character she portrayed made me want to share and give as much as we all can in our own way. Please give generously to this amazing cause which sadly will affect many, many of us in years to come.
